The Costs of Renting Commercial Storage Containers in London.

When you run a business, you will inevitably accumulate many things: office supplies, inventory, or raw materials that need to be stored.

It can quickly become overwhelming, especially if your business is small or just starting and you need more capital for an in-house storage solution.

This post will discuss the pros and cons of renting commercial storage containers vs buying them and the cost comparisons between the two options.

What are the benefits of renting a storage container?

Commercial Storage Container London

When you rent storage containers, you get all the advantages of owning a storage container but with much less of a financial hit.

Since you're renting instead of owning, you won't have to worry about where to store the thing once you're done with it.

It's a win-win situation for companies in London that want to spread the cost of having commercial storage containers at their premises.

One of the significant benefits of renting is that the terms are flexible. Some companies that rent out storage containers even offer month-to-month contracts. So if you need to figure out how much space you'll need, renting is an excellent way to hedge your bets.

What are the costs associated with renting a storage container?

The standard terms are the transportation cost for both journeys in advance plus the first month's payment.

You will then pay the agreed-upon monthly fee until you return the container.

If you rent a storage container and decide to buy one, you will usually pay off your rent through one lump sum payment.

Why might you decide to buy instead of rent?
If you have a long-term storage solution in mind, renting a storage container in London may not be your best bet.

It may be better to purchase the container outright. We don't, but Some companies in London put a time limit on when you can keep the container on their property.

In London, renting a storage container is the most cost-effective commercial storage solution, giving customers long-term storage for a fraction of the price of commercial buildings.

FAQs

What are one-trip containers?

One-trip containers are new and have only completed a single journey from our supplier in China to our UK depots.

This minimal transport history keeps costs down while ensuring the container is in excellent condition.

What are used containers like?

Our used containers are typically 8-15 years old and have been used for international and domestic shipping.

They are thoroughly inspected to ensure wind, watertight, and structurally sound, providing a reliable and cost-effective storage solution.

Do your containers come with locks?

All of our containers include standard lockboxes (cowls) but not padlocks. We can provide industry-spec heavy-duty locks for an additional fee.

Will my stored items be protected from the elements?

Yes, all our containers are wind and watertight, ensuring that your belongings remain dry and secure in any weather. However, in extreme conditions, water can get through the floor, so your contents may be at risk if there is flooding.

What materials are the containers made from?

Our new containers are manufactured in China using corten steel, which is known for its durability and corrosion resistance. The flooring is constructed with marine-grade plywood, ensuring a robust and long-lasting structure.

We offer convenient delivery throughout London using HIAB crane-mounted vehicles. Our trusted third-party hauliers will transport and safely place the container at your chosen location.

Can I pick up or return the container myself?

You can collect or return your container from our London depot if you have your vehicle. Please inform us in advance so we can provide the necessary details and arrange a suitable time.
