Hiring Containers to accommodate London construction site workers

Having the appropriate temporary facilities is crucial before work begins on any site.

A container hire agreement is an economical way to secure these facilities, and shipping containers are excellent for this purpose.

Because construction sites usually lack permanent structures such as toilets, cafeterias, and resting areas, work usually occurs in such locations.

Before work begins on a site, having the proper temporary facilities set up is crucial. Container hire is a cost-efficient method of securing these facilities, and shipping containers are particularly well-suited for this purpose.

What services do you need to provide?

According to regulations, all employees must be provided with adequate and suitable welfare conveniences at work.

The quantity and type of facilities required will depend on the number of workers, the kind of work they will be doing, and the length of the job.

What is required, generally speaking, are the following facilities:

Many of these services can be provided to your employees using shipping containers. Shipping containers can be easily transported to and positioned on sites, providing secure and covered facilities, after which they are removed.

You may hire a container of any size from London container hire to suit your needs. Canteens, shower rooms, and toilet facilities can be set up to your specifications, giving your employees the impression that they're home.

They can be used as a stand-alone facility powered by a generator or connected to external utility supplies, including electricity and water.

Using shipping containers is a great way to provide temporary housing and site amenities on construction sites. They allow for a quicker setup, reducing the difficulty and allowing for earlier site operation.

FAQs

What are one-trip containers?

One-trip containers are new and have only completed a single journey from our supplier in China to our UK depots.

This minimal transport history keeps costs down while ensuring the container is in excellent condition.

What are used containers like?

Our used containers are typically 8-15 years old and have been used for international and domestic shipping.

They are thoroughly inspected to ensure wind, watertight, and structurally sound, providing a reliable and cost-effective storage solution.

Do your containers come with locks?

All of our containers include standard lockboxes (cowls) but not padlocks. We can provide industry-spec heavy-duty locks for an additional fee.

Will my stored items be protected from the elements?

Yes, all our containers are wind and watertight, ensuring that your belongings remain dry and secure in any weather. However, in extreme conditions, water can get through the floor, so your contents may be at risk if there is flooding.

What materials are the containers made from?

Our new containers are manufactured in China using corten steel, which is known for its durability and corrosion resistance. The flooring is constructed with marine-grade plywood, ensuring a robust and long-lasting structure.

Can you deliver my container directly to me?

We offer convenient delivery throughout London using HIAB crane-mounted vehicles. Our trusted third-party hauliers will transport and safely place the container at your chosen location.

Can I pick up or return the container myself?

You can collect or return your container from our London depot if you have your vehicle. Please inform us in advance so we can provide the necessary details and arrange a suitable time.

Is there a minimum rental period?

The minimum hire period is usually three months, varying depending on demand and availability.

Can I buy my rental container after hiring it?

Yes, depending on the container type and its availability in our fleet, you may be able to purchase your rental container outright. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
